Leigh has always been a part of my life, as my mother’s family come from here.  I moved to Leigh in 2014, to take up the position of Priest in Charge of Saint Clements (CofE) Church.  Being the Parish Priest of the Leigh Church means that I spend a lot of time in Leigh and with Leigh people, and get to hear a lot of what is going on.  My hope is to be able to support the people of Leigh through the Council’s work and to build upon the work of so many people in our local community, to keep Leigh the unique place and community that it is.

My family moved to Leigh-on-Sea from West Ham in 1955 when I was a 6 week old baby. Apart from 4 years away from home when training to be a teacher, and a brief spell living in Sydney, Australia, I have lived in Leigh-on-Sea all my life. I attended Chalkwell Hall School and Westcliff High School for Girls.

I have a daughter, a brother and other family members also living in Leigh. I became a Councillor in 2015 and am finding the role very interesting.

My career has been in education and I have a particular interested in Special Educational Needs.

My hobbies include reading, yoga and walking along our wonderful seafront. I have recently joined the U3A and am making the most of the groups running at Leigh Community Centre.
