Leigh-on-Sea Town Council is proud to deliver a variety of Christmas events and activities for everyone in the Town each year. This includes our wonderful events; Leigh Lights which takes place on the last Friday of November every year and our festive Carols on Strand Wharf event in December. We also organise a Christmas Craft Fair each year in the Community Centre and our Christmas Farmers' Market.
We are always keen for people in the Town to join in with our events, whether you would like to volunteer or get involved as a trader.
This years Leigh Lights will be held on Friday 29th November from 5pm - 8pm. The event will follow the same format as in previous years. Road closures will not commence until 5pm. Some parking restrictions will be in force from 4pm.
Year on year we receive fantastic feedback about the community feel of the event and we are keen to carry on this tradition.
The annual cost of the Leigh Lights event is approximately 16,000, with the annual cost of the Christmas light installation and storage an additional 12,000. This is paid for by our residents' precept to the Town Council. Leigh-on-Sea Town Council receive nothing from business rates so a small donation from every trader/business in the Town towards the event would make a significant difference. Anyone supporting the event financially will be advertised on our website, social media channels and in print.
Similar to our hanging baskets scheme launched earlier in the year, you can sponsor your own lighting column for just 100. Each column will have a plaque on either side to display the business name,
The lights are displayed on columns in the Broadway, Broadway West, Elm Road, Leigh Road and part of London Road near Thames Drive. Please ensure you quote the column number of your preferred location, as these will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis
Businesses are welcome to make their own arrangements to split the cost of the plaque, with one-side each,

Up to 2,000 copies of our glossy programme will be handed out at the event, free of charge. It costs 30 or 50 for an advert and this will cover the cost of printing the programme and marketing the event. This price is inclusive of VAT.
The programme will include a map of the parade route, road closures, festive areas of interest and adverts from local traders, including any special offers for the event.
Adverts can be general in nature or relating specifically to any offers or promotions in connection with the lights event, in order to drive traffic to your business. Those adverts which relate specifically to the lights event will be given a more favourable position.
