LEIGH IN FRONT 2012
KNOW LEIGH’S LOVELIEST
Leigh-on-Sea Town Council has once again joined up with Leigh-on-Sea Horticultural Society to find the town’s smartest local front gardens, as part of the Town Council’s “Good for Leigh” campaign.
The Councillors are looking for nominations from local people for front gardens in the Town Council’s area that help to make Leigh-on-Sea look lovely. It’s not all about flowers! If you have used an inspired mix of hard materials and planting, your front garden is just as likely to win as a lawn and flower-bed combination.
All eligible nominated gardens will be visited and judged by members of Leigh-on-Sea’s Horticultural Society between June and September 2012. Leigh-on-Sea Town Council’s annual ‘Leigh in Front’ Trophy will be awarded to the best entry along with a Silver and Bronze prize for the runners up.
Councillor Carole Mulroney, Chairman of the Town Council’s Good for Leigh working party said: “We are not just looking for traditional front gardens. The winners will be people who have made the most of the front of their homes and whose efforts have helped to put “Leigh in Front” of other towns in the kerbside appeal stakes!”
Nominations can be sent to Town Council’s office in Elm Road by 14th June 2012. If possible, please make sure you have the permission of the garden owner to enter their front garden for the competition before submitting your nominations. You may nominate your own front garden and as many gardens as you wish.
