On Sunday 9th July, Leigh Town Council transformed Strand Wharf into an Italian Piazza – as part of a series of events planned for this Summer in Old Town Leigh.
Visitors were invited to meander through a traditional Italian market (hosted by Italia in Piazza) of over 15 market stalls boasting a wide variety of Italian foods including breads, pasta, pastries, cheese, oils and more! A selection of street food was also on offer.
Councillor, Valarie Morgan said, "We are delighted the first of our Summer events on Strand Wharf was so well received, with a steady flow of visitors to the area throughout the day.”
The Summer Season of events on Strand Wharf comprises of four events on Sunday’s throughout July and August and replaces the previous Maritime Festival in an effort to keep things fresh and exciting whilst enhancing ‘Leigh Life’. All the events are 11am-4pm with free entry.
