In October last year the Council launched a new monthly social club for local residents over 60. The club takes place at Leigh Community Centre on the second Wednesday of the Month. As well as tea, coffee, biscuits and board games, each month we will be running a different activity to inspire and stimulate our members.
Our programme of events for the year is as follows...
13th February - Talk from Carole Mulroney on "The Good, the Bad and the Downright Dastardly of Elm Road"
13th March - Performance from "Bob's Barber Shop Boys"
10th April - Arts & Crafts with the Art Ministry
8th May - Fun Quiz
12th June - Family History Workshop
10th July - Seated Exercise
14th August - Shared Reading
11th September - Ukulele Sing-a-long
9th October - Gardening Demonstration & Discussion
13th November - Arts & Crafts with the Art Ministry
11th December - Christmas Party
Everyone is welcome to come along to any session they are interested in. The club is very friendly and a great way to combat loneliness.
